Who We Are

Rockbridge Area Transportation System (RATS) provides on-demand, door-to-door service that is safe, reliable, and affordable.  Non-emergency medical transportation can be provided for the elderly, isolated, low-income, and people with disabilities. Call at least 48 hours in advance of your ride request.  Rides are also available to regional medical centers in Roanoke, Charlottesville, Fishersville, and elsewhere. A sliding fare scale based on income is used.

Note: drivers cannot enter residences or buildings.

Medicaid riders call the Modivcare reservation line at 1-866-386-8331  or 1-866 -810-8305 and make Medicaid healthcare trip reservations at least 7 days in advance. All licenses, operating authorities, and insurance are in place and all drivers are certified to transport Medicaid clients.
