A social connectedness platform which brings together individuals impacted by Alzheimer’s Disease to discuss disease related topics. Mutual support groups that schedule virtual “meetings” via the Internet. Included are e-mail listserv groups, bulletin/message boards, newsgroups and chat groups that are devoted to providing support for participants around the disease.

Grantmaking Organization, Alzheimer's Disease

An organization whose primary activity is granting funds to other organizations to achieve their mission. Foundation is often included in the organization’s name. Organizations solicit contributions, endowments and other financial support from public and private sources which are used directly by the organization to provide services for individuals living with Alzheimer’s Disease or their caregivers. Also included are governmental and quasi-governmental entities that manage the allocation of public monies.

An organization which engages in political lobbying activities and legislative influence campaigns. The primary mission of these organizations is to affect change via legislation at the local, state, or federal level that achieves the goals of Alzheimer’s Disease patients, caregivers, and the health system.
