Who We Are
Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) is committed to improving the riding experience and availability of public transportation in the Southside region for residents, businesses, and visitors of Petersburg, Hopewell, and portions of Prince George and Dinwiddie. PAT transports on average 57,000 passengers a month, aiming to connect people, jobs, and communities. PAT offers connections to downtown Richmond through GRTC and the greater United States via Greyhound from the Petersburg Multimodal Passenger Station.
The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Paratransit Service is for Senior Citizens, Medicare cardholders, and Persons with Disabilities (permanent or temporary) living within the city limits of Petersburg, or Hopewell or ¾ miles outside the service areas. The paratransit service operates wheelchair-equipped vans that provide curb-to-curb (door-to-door upon request) service for ADA-qualified passengers.
Also available is 65 Years Old Paratransit Service which is for persons 65 years old or older living in the City of Petersburg, or the City of Hopewell.
