Who We Are
Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) offers two paratransit programs. Paratransit provides an origin-to-destination service.
ADA Paratransit Service is available. One service is for Senior Citizens, Medicare cardholders, and Persons with Disabilities (permanent or temporary) living within the city limits of Petersburg or Hopewell, within ¾ mile of the service areas, and portions of Colonial Heights, portions of Dinwiddie County and Portions of Prince George County. The paratransit service operates wheelchair-equipped vans providing curb-to-curb (door-to-door upon request) service for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) qualified passengers.
PAT offers an express route to Richmond This program is specifically designed for Veterans, senior persons over 65 years of age, and people with disabilities. The bus only services McGuire Veteran Center, Medical College of Virginia , and Virginia Commonwealth University medical centers.
The second paratransit program is 65 Years Old Paratransit Service. This service is available for persons 65 years old or older living in the City of Petersburg, and the City of Hopewell.
Reservations for next-day service may be arranged by calling the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) administrative offices at 804.324-5658, 24 hours a day. Confirmation will be made the same day or the morning of the next day. Paratransit service is available from 6:00 am until 6:15 pm Monday thru Friday and 7:00 am until 6:15 pm on Saturday.p
