Botetourt County Van Service, Medical

The primary mission of the Botetourt County Van Service is to provide transportation for Botetourt County individuals to and from essential appointments.  Medieval appointments outside of the Roanoke Valley area must be pre-approved.  Medical appointments that are scheduled prior to 9:00 am or after 2:30 pm must be pre­ approved by the driver. Please request transportation to medical  appointments a minimum of three weeks in advance.

Qualifying van riders are Botetourt County residents that meet one or more of the following criteria: van riders must live in their own homes and not reside in a nursing or assisted living facility; persons 55 years of age and older; individuals that have a diagnosed qualified mental or physical disability; an able-bodied caregiver must accompany a person with a disability; legally blind individuals with a service animal and able-bodied caregiver. 

Qualifying transportation needs include: doctor appointments including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, and physical therapy;  pharmacies for prescription pick up; grocery stores; banks or credit unions for personal banking transactions; personal care appointments; post office; visitation appointments.
